About Me
My name is Lucas Schoaf, and I am from the small town of Lena, IL, with a population of around 3,000. Growing up, I spent countless hours working on cars with my dad and making videos on a 1994 Panasonic Palmcorder. These experiences taught me the values of hard work and creativity, which continue to guide me today.
I initially enrolled at Loras College as an undeclared major, with aspirations of becoming a high school history teacher. However, after exploring several courses in creative media, I found my true passion and declared a major in Creative Media during my sophomore year. Over the years, I have gained valuable experience in various roles, including serving as a Summer Teen Empowerment Program Counselor, a Multimedia Intern, a Loras College Sports Media Intern, and a freelance Photographer, Videographer, and Editor.

I have had over 30 photos published in the Telegraph Herald and three videos featured in the Loras Legacy Symposium Film Festival, one of which won the Audience Choice Award. Additionally, five of my videos have been nominated for the Iowa College Media Association Awards, where I have also won awards in Best Video Promo or PSA and Best Corporate Video. I’ve edited three videos for organizations such as the Telegraph Herald and Junior Achievement.

With a particular interest in sports photography, my ultimate goal is to work with major sports leagues such as the NFL, MLB, or NHL, capturing the energy and emotion of live events. I am a firm believer in the power of visual storytelling, and I am dedicated to creating impactful content that resonates with audiences.
